Josep Sanou (Barcelona 1962) Composer.


Studied at the 'Aula de Musica Moderna y Jazz de Barcelona'.

Began his professional career as a pianist and arranger in the 1980's, collaborating with Gato Perez and La Trinca, among others.

Founder of the band, Gringos, (1986-1996). A pioneer group in investigation and audiovisual innovation, merged very diverse styles together with a peculiar offer of videoart projections.

He recorded 3 albums with this group, participated in diverse remixes of electronic and experimental music and obtained important awards, among which stand out the 'Premio Ciutat de Barcelona', 'Biennal de Barcelona', 'Premi del Mercat de Música Viva de Vic' for the best show, 'Premi Altaveu' for audiovisual innovation, '1er Premio Festival de Vídeo Musical de Vitoria Gasteiz, International Visual Music Awards'...

Josep Sanou creates Soundtracks for Cinema, Dance and Theatre, usually working with La Fura dels Baus, Javier Daulte, Carles Bosch, Felipe Vega, Danat Danza and Sabine Dahrendorf, among others.

He has composed music for more than 20 Documentaries, and since 1990, composes and produces Television Jingles and Channel Signature Tunes for the major Television Channels. The most noteworthy of these being: Telediario de RTVE, La 2 Noticias, Los desayunos de RTVE, Noticias Cuatro, Telenoticies TV3, Las Noticias del Guiñol, 'Identifiers', 'Curtains', and 'Lead-ins' for Canal +, TV3, Canal 33, Canal Sur, TV Canaria, Televisión de Aragón, Tele Madrid, M7, Antena 3, La Sexta, Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda (Portugal), Televisión de Andorra...
