Synopsis
Jessica, daughter of the architect Stuart Pedrell, contracts the services of Carvalho to trace her father. The latter, renowned for having constructed low-quality housing blocks for the working class on the outskirts of Barcelona, had convinced his family that he had retired somewhere in the south seas. But Carvalho discovers that Pedrell never even went there. Instead, he took refuge in Bellvitge in one of the very housing blocks he himself constructed, where he was murdered under the false identity of Antonio. Jessica will want to know the reasons for Stuart's death, but her mother doesn't seem very willing keen to collaborate. Carvalho decides to lose himself amongst the locals of Bellvitge to find out the truth.
