Carvalho is investigating the murder of a prison guard. The police have accused a young delinquent on conditional release who had threatened to kill the guard. The detective and his assistant, Biscuter, manage to get into the apartment where the body was found and deduce that on the evening of the crime someone else was with the guard. Someone who missed a very exclusive invitation to a party of Sevillanas at one of the city's nightclubs. The clue leads them to the Up & Down and to Navajas, the cell mate of the accused, now the drug-dealer of four pretty boys who call themselves ''The Inseparables''. The same night Carvalho is about to nail Navajas, one of the Inseparables is murdered at the Up & Down, a lad from too influential a family who's got himself mixed up in too many problems. Now the police are after Navajas too, and Carvalho knows that if he doesn't want his client to be condemned for life, he's going to have to get to Navajas first.
