Juan, a young history teacher, finds some old manuscripts in a hidden larder at his home in Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza). The books tell the story of a family that was expelled from the town in 1609 because they were Moriscos. Encouraged by his grandfather, Juan decides to delve deeper into the story and is quick to seek the help of experts in the field.
