Some of the youths that took part in the film A través del Carmel used to frequent the headquarters of the ADSIS, a social work foundation that served as our main frame of reference while working in the Carmel district. Many of these adolescents stated their desire to enlist in the army or the police corps, a rather odd proposition, considering that some of them had had run-ins with the law. Thus, in keeping with the ADSIS educators, we decided to focus on the issue of violence and authority, approaching it from different points of view to cover the gamut of meanings that it might have for young people. This project is the compilation of conversations and reflections on violence and fear.
