Isabel is a historical drama series (first season 13 x 70’) that narrates the life of Queen Isabella I of Castile (known as Isabella the Catholic, in Spain). The series takes in the period spanning from the year 1461, when at age ten she is forced by her brother King Henry IV to live in the Court of Segovia after his wife gets pregnant, to her final crowning as Queen of Castile in 1474.
Her sacrifices, her personality, her companions along the way and her enemies ... This is the story of a woman ahead of her time, a woman who manages to take the reigns of power, a realm exclusively reserved to men until then.
A young girl age 16 whose intuition, education and influences enable her to take decisions that will shape her life ... and through time, that of Spain.
