Salim, a young Amazigh orphan, comes into the life of Toni, an experienced musher –a sled-dog racer- who is training his huskies to compete in the Pirena, the most important winter competition. Salim becomes the inseparable friend of Captain, the team’s lead dog and, thanks to a special gift that allows his communicate with animals, he becomes essential to Toni who has decided that this is the year he must win the competition.. it’s his only chance to be able to buy the house where he lives. His main opponent, Jaume, is tough nut to crack, perhaps because his wife, Maria, was the great lover of Toni’s youth, and the rivalry between them still persists despite the years. Like love.
Salim, whose parents were drowned while trying to cross to Spain in a small boat, and Toni, a bachelor and a forest ranger, are two loners whom life hasn’t treated particularly well. Over the course of that exciting competition which they will race together fears, they’ll understand their mistakes and glimpse some hope for the future.
