Synopsis

At the height of the romantic age, just as his contemporary Julius Verne, Narcís Monturiol imagined that the depths of the sea were navigable. His practical nature drove him to see that his dream be transformed into reality. At the time, Barcelona was initiating its industrial growth and enthusiastically welcomed the idea to create a submarine to aid in the search for coral. Monturiol fought an uphill battle, and spent almost his entire lifetime devoted to the conquest of the sea depths. The joys, adventures, failures and moments of glory of this brilliant inventor have been captured for cinema in this spectacular film. A ballad to a hero of his times, a Catalan who solved one the principal enigmas of underwater navigation in the mid-nineteenth century.
