Synopsis
Rashid Taleb, a young Moroccan immigrant and amateur athlete based in Paris, decides, for several reasons -one of them being his fathers death- to return to his country.
On his way through Barcelona, his wallet and, with it, his money and train tickets, are stolen. This unexpected and unpleasant event, forcing him to remain for the time being in the city, turns to his advantage and, quite by chance, he starts climbing up the social ladder, eventually holding posts of great responsibility. The story of Rashid, told in an ironical tone, becomes an amusing comedy of love, power and human vanity, while at the same time constituting a sharp analysis of end of the twentieth century European society.
The film is based on Joan Barril's novel Un submarí a les estovalles.
