Synopsis

Barcelona from head to toe, in a sequence shot and in 3D. Such is the ambitious proposal of this false creative documentary.
At the start of the 20th century and adhering to the purest principles of the avant-garde, the ''City Symphonies'' set out to capture the spirit, singularity and poetry of a city through images of daily life in its streets. The idea was to convey an “internal truth”, to capture the city’s heart and to reveal its soul.
In keeping with the lines of Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka, and inspired on films such as Kino-Nedelia and Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Grosstadt, Barcelona 3D, directed by Manuel Huerga and narrate by Woody Allen, recovers the avant-garde spirit of the ''City Symphonies''. Here, Huerga draws on the immense potential of 3D cinema to paint a portrait of Barcelona from head to toe: its streets, its people, its sounds, its secrets and its contrasts, led by the hand of a number of characters that we follow, lose track of and run into again over the course of an entire year. The end product is a choral story of intersecting lives, yet with a single indisputable hero: the city of Barcelona itself.
