Michel's Suitcase is the personal investigation by film-maker Clara Farràs to find out who the owner of a suitcase was that some friends found in a squat in Barcelona. A suitcase containing a treasure: the memories and souvenirs of its owner.
Her fascination for this character, a famous composer, harpist and variety artist in the 1940s, led Clara to look for documents, music and people who might have known him with the aim of recreating his life and professional career, from his middle-class childhood in Switzerland to decadence as an artist and as a person. This documentary is the story of a life, that of Michel, based on the few memories that he kept in his suitcase, a search, that of Clara, to put a face, a name and a voice to the set of memories and hopes locked inside a suitcase.
